Peace & Tranquility on Gun Creek Trail

The "first slide" on the Gun Creek Trail.
Sal ahead of me.
The Gun Creek Trail is a popular access route to Spruce Lake and the amazing South Chilcotin Park.  The first part of this trail is often under appreciated as mountain bikers and horse pack trips alike are beginning or ending their trip.

Sal and I took off for a hike - really a walk - for an hour up the trail.  It is very moderate with one big uphill.

Yoga - meditation - can't replace the peace and tranquility of this walk.   If you go for 45 minutes out and back you spend the entire time walking beside the rushing
waters of Gun Creek.
After a while it just sinks into your soul.

Many people go to the meadows further up to see amazing wildflower displays.  Yet even on this very accessible part of the trail  you can discover wonders of nature.

We even saw many tiny tiny frogs hopping from ponds bordering the creek across the trail to hide under rocks.

This part of the trail is an awesome late afternoon summer trail as it is shady throughout.

You breathe in wonderful scents of spruce and fir.   Breath deep...it really is tonic for the spirit.

Give it a try.  So peaceful, calming and smells wonderful.  This is a very moderate walk.

Scenery on this part of the trail too!
